FAQs

We will pick you up from the quay side at your chosen trips location. Look out for our boat which will be clearly marked with SeaQuest.
For off-islands with multiple quays, you will be notified which quay will be used for departure and pick up as it will be Tide dependant which varies every day.
For St Marys, your pickup will be from the Quayside in St Marys Harbour at one of the step locations. You will likely see our boat making ready to dock as other boats move away from the quays steps. Just keep an eye out as we head towards the chosen steps.

Its always advisable to bring a jacket. Not only does the sea make the air temperature slightly lower, sometimes the wind can affect the angle of the rain. We have a nice cabin should mother nature decide to throw the elements at us! Whatever the weather, the animals and wildlife don’t seem to mind.
-
We operate in the rain. SeaQuest is a covered boat so we are always protected from the worst of it. If you would prefer not to go out when its raining then please make this decision and cancel ahead of time with at least 24 hours notice to enable a full refund.
-
We cannot guarantee sightings of any particular wildlife species - no two trips are the same which is what makes is exciting.
Seals are sighted on most trips and of course so are birds. We will always see nature of some sort under the water. Puffins are dependant in their arrival and departure to the islands, this is generally between April and July. Dolphins and porpoise are less easy to predict as they follow their food source which can vary in quantity and seasonality.
-
In the event of late arrivals we reserve the right to maintain our advertised departure time and leave without you. In this event we reserve the right not to issue a refund. Please allow plenty of time, we will always do our best to accommodate unforeseen circumstance.
-
We generally operate between 9am - 5pm, 6 days a week between the months of April through to October when the weather permits.
We like to open bookings at least 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your holidays accordingly. We are always keeping an eye on the weather, the tides and any special wildlife that is present around the islands.

There are large steps down the Quay and then a step down onto the boat. We have taken many passengers with mobility issues and we will always provide assistance where possible. If you can generally use a flight of stairs, you should be fine to access the boat. If you prefer less stairs then try to book a Trip when the tide is high and the boat will be higher in the water, with less steps on the quayside. Please get in touch if you need to.
